“Walrus At Svalbard” by Robert Bateman will be featured during the 7th annual, Masterpieces in Miniature Art Show. This Art show is presented in the Edmonton region by Picture This Gallery in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada; and runs from May 7th to 26th, 2011. A selection of fine art by over 45 invited artists of stature from across North America will be exhibited during this show. This year the show is very special with the participation of Robert Bateman and the celebration of Picture This framing and gallery’s 30th anniversary.
ROBERT BATEMAN has been hailed as the most influential wildlife artist of twentieth century. He had his first one man show in 1967. Since then he has had numerous exhibitions and sell-out shows in Canada, the United States and abroad and his work is held in public and private collections worldwide. Ten collections of his work had been published, and two of his books have made publishing history by selling more than half million copies. His lifelong passion for wildlife and nature led to his second career as an advocate for environmental concerns, a role for which he has received numerous awards and public recognition. Bateman lives on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia.
