“Pale Rose” started as a study for a larger still life, but it started to take on a personality…so I completed it as a finished painting”, says artist Dean Morrissey about Pale Rose  his  original participating in Masterpieces in Miniature 2009.

Dean Morrissey resides in Massachucetts. Since 1991 Morrissey has published many beautifully illustrated books; among them Ship of Dreams. This book won numerous awards, including The New YorK Times “Ten Best Illustrated Books” of 1994. Morrissey’s second book, The Great Kettles, has won  awards too, including a gold medal from The Society of Illustrators. Among other acomplishments that  this artist has achieved are The Society of Illustrators Gold Medal for The Great Kettles, The Chesley Award for The Light Ship (2002).

Pale Rose is one of  two Dean Morrissey originals participating in Masterpieces in Miniature presented by the Gallery At Picture This, Sherwood Park, AB running now  until  May 21st 2009.
